Birds going to bed in the twilight. I’m watching from the spa.

A pīwaiwaka (#Rhipidura fuliginosa placabilis) and a tiu (#Passer domesticus domesticus) arguing over who should have the highest branch on the tree. A rapid series of squeaks that would make R2-D2 blush. But then the pīwaiwaka saw an insect and took off after it.

Now a kōurarini (#Carduelis carduelis britannica) has claimed the highest peak and is announcing his intention to annex the tree for his domain.
