I'm a simple crocheter, I don't use any special stitches. I think about 90% of my patterns and projects only use single crochet (sc), increase (inc), invisible decrease (dec) and slip stitch (ss). If I get any fancier than that, it's by adding a few double crochet (dc) or half double crochet (hdc) stitches.
Personally I enjoy making easier stitches and I dislike the motions of more complex stitches, so I always try to see how far I can get by just using the very basics. đ
