I explore the Ikea Alpstuga air sensor, discuss my smart-home setup, Matter, Thread, Home Assistant, and GrapheneOS. I cover some limitations of these projects and work-arounds I’ve discovered, including Graphene’s inability to use the Android Matter Flow. The Ikea Alpstuga is a low-cost CO2, humidity, air temperature and quality sensor. Supporting the open Matter protocol, and costing £25 it’s extremely competitive for a CO2 sensor alone. It apparently doesn’t directly measure CO2 directly but estimates it based on some other variables with the air, this gives it a low accuracy compared to competing devices. I’ve purchased three of these for my home (Alpstugas not Micas). GrapheneOS is an alternative to Android supporting on Pixel phones. Its unparalleled dedication to security and privacy makes it not only the best option for FOSS fans, but also the only realistic option when you compare the feature-sets of alternatives. Home Assistant is an open-source application / operating system for connecting, controlling and organising Smart Home Devices. It might be one of the most successful open-source projects out there, it works incredibly well, has a vast active community, and the backing of paid developers.

Erfolg des Tages, nach Kauf eines #IKEA #DIRIGERA Hub “für smarte Produkte”, habe ich es geschafft den IKEA #ALPSTUGA #CO2 Sensor in mein #homeassistant einzubinden.

Versuche mit #SONOFF Dongle-LMG21 oder Dresden Elektronik #ConBee3 und #OpenThread Border Router haben nicht funktioniert.

Thanks everyone for their suggestions, I've ordered three Ikea ALPSTUGA.
I think, not as accurate as some other options, but it's WAYY cheaper and hopefully will be decent.
I think I can just connect it to HomeAssistant without an additional hub, I think Matter can just work over Wi-Fi? If I'm wrong someone let me know please <3

Hier ein Vergleich zwischen #ALPSTUGA , #TIMMERFLOTTE und meinem alten Sonoff, stehen direkt nebeneinander.
Deutlich zu sehen die hohe Updatefrequenz beim Alptsuga. Der Timmerflotte ist mit 5min auch recht gut, der Sonoff ist dynamischer (hat auch die kleinste Batterie). Timmerflotte scheint etwas träger zu sein bei startken Schwankungen (Fenster auf o.ä.). Insgesamt sind die Varianzen im für den Zweck erträglichen Bereich.

#Alpstuga - ich habe kein professionelles Equipment zum gegentesten, die Werte sind aber halbwegs valide. Da mit USB-C verbunden reagiert der Sensor schnell und hat eine gute Updaterate. Die Uhrzeit funktioniert mit #HomeAssistant nicht out of the box, aber es gibt eine Integration, die man über HACS einbinden kann, dann gibt's auch die korrekte Uhrzeit.
