Went up to the high cascades today above 7000 feet. There were so many things in bloom, I can’t name them all.
I believe the first is cat ear, second is owl clover, third might be an endemic.. something or other.
Last one is a massive snow drift still there with my sister’s dog. This was a slightly shaded from E/W south facing, and it was huge, probably 75 yards long by about 30-40 yards wide and substantially deep still.
Very familiar in gardens, here is Clematis alpina doing its alpine thing, growing out of a crevice in a rock.
Another violet. This time a Heath Dog violet (Viola canina). The leaves are quite fleshy and coarse, rather like miniature apple leaves.
This is a type of buttercup called Globe Flower (Trollius europeaus) because the large flowers are held in a spherical shape. It is popular in gardens.
This is a Spring Cinquefoil (Potentilla verna). Growing in disturbed crushed stone.
This is an Arctic Violet (Viola biflora), this one growing in the Alps.
This clump of Spring Gentian (Gentians Verna) was just going over. A very intense blue.
Guten Morgen! Was war gestern schön was hat euch gefreut?
#diekleinendinge #alpineflora #springbloom #biodiversity #biodiversitat

Hier: Der Bergwegerich, Plantago atra. Diese Pflanze findet man in alpinen Schneetälern, wo die kleine Pflanze (Die Blattrosetten sind ca. 3cm groß) im Frühjahr blüht. #diekleinendinge #Bloomscrolling #naturefact #Biodiversität #biodiversity #alpineflora #naturefotography #naturelovers
