Europas erste optische Datenverbindung aus dem interplanetaren Weltraum

Die Europäische Weltraumorganisation (ESA) hat mit zwei speziellen Bodenstationen in Griechenland erfolgreich eine optische Verbindung für das DSOC-Experiment (Deep Space Optical Communications) der NASA an Bord der Psyche-Mission hergestellt, die 265 Millionen Kilometer entfernt ist.

With the #Sentinel-2B #satellite close to beginning its working life in orbit, this latest Copernicus satellite has linked up to #Alphasat by laser, across almost 36 000 km of space, to deliver images of Earth just moments after they were captured.
