“Almost Famous” really captures the weird relationship that journalists and critics have with artists and musicians. We’re not there to be their friends. Can we be friends? Sure BUT at the end of the day we’re there to document the moment and the music as objectively as possible NOT make the artists look cool or feed into however they want to be portrayed

I worked as a music journalist for a little less than a decade (2004-2013) and despite the obvious differences due to time “Almost Famous” and “This is Spın̈al Tap“ are by far the most accurate depictions of life on the road from films that aren’t documentaries
