The bad news: The moment I tried to have #LetsEnvision #AllySolos glasses describe #NSFW content from the same #HeartLeafGames pinup calendar digital packs I encountered friction. The way it said "I can't describe *that*" when trying to describe one nude suggested that the agent knew that it was analyzing adult content and refused to describe it. When asked to describe the nude version of an image it described prior I got excuses about image brightness and vague non-descriptions of what little it said it could identify. I specified that the inage contained adult content and requested a description with that context, and the response, in so many words, was that while they want to respect the privacy and dignity of the user to provide access to adult content, their privacy policy prevents them from providing it for safety reasons. Envision's own privacy policy says they would not seek to censor content access; not applicable to images I guess... Not a dealbreaker, just a disappointment
Well isn't that something new and good. I just had #Letsenvision #AllySolos accessible smart face wearable describe a few of the #SFW images from the #HeartLeafGames #BeastWorld 2023 and 2024 pinup calendar digital packs, and it correctly identified the the subject's gender, species, and identified them as anthropomorphic. The overall scene and character descriptions were detailed and comprehensive. I have yet to test whether the agent can tell the difference between a skunk and a cat in photos, but already I consider this to be a good step forward to providing the #blind interested in animal or talking animal-people content a means to participate in conversations around it where image alt text/text descriptions are/will not be available. There is supposedly a means to export the text of these descriptions but I haven't as yet figured out how to do this with a voice conversation via the Android app; doing this as a text conversation instead is probably better. That's the good news. 1/2

Ally Solos Smart Glasses - Unboxing, Set Up, & First Impressions

YouTube
Update! Ally has posted a revised user guide. Apparently the easiest way to charge the glasses is to attach the magnetic cable to the left arm while it's still attached to the glasses. The user guide can be found here: https://support.letsenvision.com/hc/en-us/articles/40297333788177-Ally-Solos-Glasses-User-Guide It claims you can download the guide in multiple formats, though every time I click on the link, I just get an edit box with the table of contents. Original post follows. My dad just received his Ally Solos glasses. He likes them, but has a few questions. First, do the glasses automatically update their firmware? There seems to be nothing concerning firmware update, current version, etc. in the Ally app. Also, the documentation we've been able to find is extremely confusing about how to charge the glasses. At one point it says the magnetic cable can only be used with the left arm. Then elsewhere it says a USB C cable can only be used with the left arm. But then in another place it says you can charge both arms at the same time. Does anyone have any info on this? Please boost for reach. Thanks. *** Hashtags follow *** #AllySolos #AllyGlasses #AllySoloGlasses #SoloGlasses #Envision #EnvisionGlasses #EnvisionSolos #EnvisionAlly #EnvisionSoloGlasses #EnvisionAllySoloGlasses

@jaybird110127 In regards to the left arm and the charging thing. It is my understanding that the left arm is also the battery and there is an option to either detach the arm and charge it independently or to charge them while it is still attached to the glasses. this was chosen so that extra arms could be purchased for a quick battery swap if you were out and about and the 10-15 hour battery life wasn't enough. As to your other questions I haven't had a chance to do the reading or watch the youtube videos yet, but I'll keep this conversation open and add what I can find out. Mine have shipped as well, so I'll be trying to learn all of this soon myself.

My dad preordered the Envision Ally Solos Glasses back in August, and they just shipped. In my opinion, even the full PDF user guide omits some pretty important information, and I'm wondering if anyone who might have seen them can help. I know there are some Youtube videos, but like many others, I prefer my instructional materials as text. Some pretty basic information that seems to have been left out of the manual are things like, How do you turn the glasses on and off. What's the actual process for pairing the glasses? Also, the manual indicates that the left arm of the glasses has both a USB and magnetic charging port. It says nothing about how to charge the right arm, yet says it can be removed and charged. How? Please boost for reach.
