Update! Ally has posted a revised user guide. Apparently the easiest way to charge the glasses is to attach the magnetic cable to the left arm while it's still attached to the glasses. Original post follows. My dad just received his Ally Solos glasses. He likes them, but has a few questions. First, do the glasses automatically update their firmware? There seems to be nothing concerning firmware update, current version, etc. in the Ally app. Also, the documentation we've been able to find is extremely confusing about how to charge the glasses. At one point it says the magnetic cable can only be used with the left arm. Then elsewhere it says a USB C cable can only be used with the left arm. But then in another place it says you can charge both arms at the same time. Does anyone have any info on this? Please boost for reach. My dad preordered the Envision Ally Solos Glasses back in August, and they just shipped. In my opinion, even the full PDF user guide omits some pretty important information, and I'm wondering if anyone who might have seen them can help. I know there are some Youtube videos, but like many others, I prefer my instructional materials as text. Some pretty basic information that seems to have been left out of the manual are things like, How do you turn the glasses on and off. What's the actual process for pairing the glasses? Also, the manual indicates that the left arm of the glasses has both a USB and magnetic charging port. It says nothing about how to charge the right arm, yet says it can be removed and charged. How? I love when my friends and I can be tech nerds. Tonight, was on facetime with a friend, and we took lots of pictures of the sky as it changed with my #EnvisionGlasses. Then, we got my phone out and took a single picture and ran it through #SeeingAI, #Envision, #BeMyEyes, and #AiraAI. It was interesting to hear the similarities and differences in each description. Interesting times we live in, where I can get a glimpse of what the moon and stars look like without seeing them.

Had a nice time out on my swing and chatting with a good friend. We had fun playing with my #EnvisionGlasses. I took pictures as the sun set and let her hear them. It was interesting to hear descriptions of how the sky changes. Cool stuff!

It totally sucks that we are over the other side of the world from everyone. Everything is in the middle of the night for us. The Apple event, not that I care as I can listen to that any time, and so I can with the webinars, but it means I can't participate. This whinge comes after reading about an #envisionGlasses webinar that is on at 2 am Friday morning our time. By being there, we can win prizes. I've got two options: suck it up and have my beauty sleep, or stay awake and be zonked the next day thereby, still sucking it up.

I got a message left on my voicemail at about 4 AM my time from an enthusiastic #Aira rrep saying that if I wanted to resubscribe to AIRA (I got off it as I wasn't really using it), I could get a month free, yes, and what about after that? Actually considering taking up this offer when I get my #envisionGlasses working properly as the thought of going back to hands free AIRA is appealing especially on holidays.
