#AllanHouser or Haozous (June 30, 1914 – August 22, 1994) was a Chiricahua #Apache sculptor, painter, and book illustrator born in Oklahoma.[2] He was one of the most renowned Native American painters and Modernist sculptors of the 20th century.
"Buffalo Hunt" by Chiricahua Apache artist Allan Houser (1914-1994). Prior to becoming a renowned sculptor, Houser studied painting at the Santa Fe Indian School 1934-1938. This watercolor and gouache on paper is dated 1938 and is in the Museum of Northern Arizona collections.
