Alejandro Aranda, who used to go by Scarypoolparty, is a multi-faceted, multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter with a fairly eclectic track record. His more recent work is centered around a strong acoustic pop that also draws from elements of jazz, soul, and classical. There are shades of Radiohead in his music in terms of how it establishes mood. His past work has also brought in influences of '90s style industrial, prog, math rock, nu metal, and shoegaze. He is a very strong songwriter who puts together instantly accessible melodies and constructs his songs with a lot of clarity and effectiveness as a performer. He is a nimble instrumentalist, especially on acoustic guitar and the piano. The fact that he first came into the public's radar in American Idol (season 17) makes him even more fascinating as an artist.
