Haffner Creek, BC was the scene of a major forest fire about 10 years ago. Massive, blackened lodgepole pine are strewn across the creek bed. Many remain standing. I saw this spectacular scene of regrowth as I walked back towards the trailhead at end of the day. Huge shadows from the surrounding mountains heightened the contrast of the warmth of the setting sun on the mountains and new growth.
