Those people will not be "staying in their home" when they get old and require care. They will need publicly funded age care places because they will have no equity with which to buy a place in a facility.
How is the government going to provide for this under the current system of private providers of factory-farm age care?

Give this job to the lawyers at Apple or Google and these oldies can be compelled to extract their teeth and fingernails before being kicked up the arse
The whole age care system in Australia is a hangover of the neo-liberal fixation with markets and small-government. It is intended to make profits for providers and reduce the size of the government budget.
The only real solution is to bring THE WHOLE OF IT back into government hands and to fund it appropriately.

After all, they have long hammered the point that "Super is to be spent on retirement living"
Anyone know of tips on cutting very thick short hair on a bedridden person whose head is always on a pillow? #neisvoid #disability #agecare #hair #haircut
My gran has hair going every direction from always being on a pillow. I can cut all of it off but it would be nice if I could leave her with a bit that looked okay.
