I’ve lived in this village for almost eight years, and I can still discover new hiking trails near home. Today’s explorations led me through birdsong-filled woods on a quiet road, to a view over lake Ägeri, and finally to the little Dreifaltigkeitskapelle Mittenägeri (Trinity Chapel) from 1705 before taking me back along the lake shore to the coffee shop.

To complete my trio of Easter weekend hikes, I went up to the White Cross over the #Aegerital. Short and sweet but still enough ascent to get my heart pumping. Over the last three days I have ascended the west, south, and north rims of this valley.

Stats: 5km, 261m ascent, 1h30m, 11°C ⛅️

For my Karfreitag (Good Friday) day off, I hiked up and around the top of the Zugerberg, which separates the #Aegerital from lake Zug. It was a damp, misty, overcast morning, but surprisingly I was still underneath the cloud layer and had some views into the distance.

Did a combo bike ride / hike to scout for wildflowers on some of the outlying farm fields in the #Aegerital. There were some, but I think we’re still a month short of peak. Bonus photo of the deer skull on the wall of what we’ve dubbed the Druidhütte.
