The IRAF poster shown at #ADASS2023 invites to test and give feedback, so I wrote to the author to establish a contact between NOIRLab and the IRAF community. However, no communication, no test offer so far. Working together would be essential for the future of #IRAF.
Glad to start seeing equal, if not better action in Mastodon regarding things like #Adass2023โ€ฆ so great!
#ADASS2023 may be over, but #IVOA2023Tucson is now beginning. This is to learn and work on details about the Virtual Observatory and how it's implemented. ๐Ÿ™‚

Link to my talk for #ADASS2023 on NASA and Open Source Science Initiative. It mainly focuses on our cloud work.

Next year's ADASS meeting is announced: Malta! Here's hoping I can attend in person ๐Ÿ˜
#ADASS2023
As part of yesterday's #ADASS2023 banquet, we got to tour SOFIA, the Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy. It's a plane with a telescope on it's back! #astronomy ๐Ÿ˜ƒโœˆ๏ธ๐Ÿ”ญ
Busy first day at #ADASS2023 listening to the talks, Birds-of-a-Feather sessions, and catching up with colleagues. Lots of walking too and we're reminded Tucson is a desert. Always so thirsty! ๐Ÿ˜…๐ŸŒต
Iโ€™m thoroughly impressed with the work at ESASky has done. Go to sky.esa.int/. Lots of smart features for getting data across multiple observatories and wavelength and built on Virtual Observatory standards. They even have an AI assistant to help you find data. At #adass2023.
ESASky 7.4.0

ESASky is an application that allows you to visualise and download public astronomical data from space-based missions.

Quick demo of ESASky at #ADASS2023. I was familiar with it but have missed out on some features, such as querying other data centers through TAP, which includes exploring MAST data (aka STScI CAOMTAP).
First day of #ADASS2023! Not counting some of the tutorials yesterday and the evening reception, which was fun ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐ŸŒต
