Hearing Boris for the first time in the aughts was pretty mind blowing. They seemed to tirelessly explore so many areas of metal, sludge, drone, ambient, psychedelia, etc. You never knew what you were going to get.

20 years later and "Akuma no Uta" still sounds as aggressive and accessible as ever. And it remains one of my favorite covers - a great tribute to Nick Drake.

Almost missed this one yesterday - 30 years since the release of B12's Electro-soma. Oft overlooked compared to many of their contemporaries (such as Aphex Twin), B12 put out an excellent collection of ambient techno as a part of Warp's Artificial Intelligence movement.

Well worth a re-visit as it holds up remarkably well.
