I get that you made a soulslike and that it takes itself extremely seriously, but can I get a pause button if I'm playing offline anyway? Maybe the option to enable the pause button in some other menu? You can feel free to warn me that this will make the game easier I guess. Kind of condescending if you think that needs to be explained but okay.
Has to be the most basic accessibility feature in any game and a lot of them just decide as a mechanical stressor that you can't have it, lmao.
I can hibernate the hardware running your game to basically pause it, then to resume I roll the joystick around and mash dodge while the system wakes back up to hopefully help my lil guy evade whatever chaos is announcing itself through the speakers while the display takes a couple moments to bring visuals back. It's just kind of stupid that I need to poorly-emulate a pause function because you made the artistic choice to annoy the shit out of your players.
Very few games have used the whitespace of this restriction well enough to make me say "Oh yeah, this really adds so much to this experience, no wonder it's completely mandatory."
Just downloaded **Stardew Valley** from Steam and installed the mods I need to make it accessible! 🎮✨ Big thanks to @gocu54 for recommending it. I'm excited to see how it works with my combination of disabilities, but I always feel a bit nervous trying new games since so many aren't accessible.
The mods I've set up, like **Stardew Access**, are designed to help visually impaired players navigate the game using screen readers and keyboard support. They make menus and interactions much more manageable, which is a huge relief! 🌱🌼
Fingers crossed that this becomes another great game I can enjoy! I'll keep you all updated on how it goes. #AccessibilityGaming #StardewValley #blind #accessibility #gaming #autism
