Have just got off the phone from a call providing feedback to #AppleAccessibility re inaccessibility of #Airpods4. For reference, on the back of the case, there is no fisical button there is a touch surface, that one needs to tap to start the pairing process, however, those who have tried to do it report that this is more miss than hit. I would urge those who care about this to consider calling apple accessibility and voicing concerns around this. The more of us who get in their ear, the better itwill be for future generations of this product. I have suggested that a reasonable resolution to this would be to bring out new compatible cases with the button replaced. #access4All @scottrut @doubletap @JonathanMosen
🔥 New study from the #ACCESS4ALL project! I found that lobby teams with a balanced gender composition & shared national backgrounds with MEPs secure more access to the European Parliament🇪🇺But biases remain, especially against lobbyists from newer EU states👇 🧵 www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10....

Just a reminder, if anyone needs some audio or video transcribed that's posted to Mastodon, I can write transcripts and post them to my blog, where I have categories under #Access4All. As I'm incredibly busy, I can't transcribe a lot of material, but I've set aside places on my website for things people post to mastodon that people wish to have transcribed. Draw my attention to something with the #Access4All hashtag. Thanks. :) I hope everyone has an awesome day!

Is there a separate keystroke on Tweesecake that I'm not aware of that allows for searches with hashtags? I tried to do a search for #Access4all and even tried it without the # sign. At this time, the cake is saying there are no results for #Access4all. Just trying to make sure I do this right so I can keep an active buffer on here as well. Thanks for the help. :)

I'd like to welcome everyone on Mastodon to #Access4all. It's a labor of love designed to provide a space for transcribed audio/video content shared on mastodon. If you're curious to learn more, please visit the following blog post, which will give you everything you need.
https://celestialvoice.net/welcome-to-access4all/
I'll keep this post pinned to my profile, so anyone can quickly access all the links mentioned here. If you come across audio that you think the community might be interested in getting transcribed, or if you have transcripts to share, please use the #Access4All hashtag. There are other use cases when to use and not to use the hashtag, and the above blog post will explain everything.
As more content is added, you will want to refer to the following categories to access content you might be interested in.
The access4all category can be found here.

You can find transcribed audio content here.

Transcribed video content can be found here.

The blog post above also mentions ways you can get in touch with me if you want or need help with transcribing audio individually. Community transcripts are always free, and individual transcripts do have a small price attached. Please keep in mind I will do my best to accommodate everyone and their needs, so prices are affordable, yet will be a huge help if the demand increases. With a busy life, I can only provide one community hour and one personal hour a day for transcriptions, so please be patient as I transcribe in the order that things are received.
With all that said, spread the word far and wide. The #Access4All hashtag is for everyone who needs it. Get in touch if you need assistance, and happy transcribing!
It's the perfect time and place for an inclusive space.
Blessings to all. stay safe.

Welcome to Access4All!

Hello, and a warm welcome to Access4All. This is the time and place, for a fully inclusive space! This post will lay out the ground work for my newest passion project, making Mastodon as accessible of

Celestial Voice
Hello Everyone,
I’m so thrilled to see my offer for transcribing audio uploaded to Mastodon. I’ve even gotten some suggestions for some external videos to transcribe as well, which, if I can help even a bit, it makes a difference and warms my heart to see such a supportive community. So, before this project takes flight, I thought I’d do a bit of house keeping and lay down some ground rules to make things easier for everyone.
First, if you come across audio on Mastodon that you’d like described, or see an occasional link to a video or audio clip that you’d like transcribed, please use the hashtag #Access4All. Please note the spelling. It’s easy to remember, and short enough for those who have typing/dexterity issues. This allows me to open a search timeline for that hashtag specifically so I don’t have to wade through Mastodon River and find it. Also, for anyone lse in the community who wants to help transcribe, this will be easier for others to step up and help as they see fit.
Next, I will be setting up an Access4All category on my blog in the next day or so, and in there will be child categories called Transcribed Video and Transcribed audio. If anyone would be willing to provide descriptions for videos to make them completely accessible, we can make a third category that contains text descriptions along with the transcripts. As for syncing the transcripts to the audio, I don’t have the technical know-how to make that happen. That’s why giving me the links to the original sources is so important, because I can include the links in my blog posts, and the reader can open these links in a new tab should they want to follow along. It’s the best way I can offer community transcripts, seeing as some videos or audio can excede most server character limits. When these are set up, I’ll create a pinned post with links to the blogs various feeds. My next post will be behind a content warning, and will contain a disclaimor for audio I will not transcribe for safety.
I want this to be a fully inclusive space, but I also want to keeep it neutral and safe. For this reason, I’m posting the following disclaimor so people know what audio I will not transcribe.
1. I will not transcribe anything of an inappropriate sexual nature. While people may believe in equal access to that content, I feel that only those who are experiencing it can fully interpret the emotion should they wish to post things like that. Also, I have been molested and sexually assaulted, and some of that content can be triggering to me.
2. I will not transcribe anything that contains any transphobic, xenophobic, racial, or any other rhetoric that promotes prejudice or discrimination in any way. If such language is in a piece of audio meant for educational or awareness purposes, discuss it with me first.
3. Since this is a neutral space, I won’t post audio of sermons or lectures from specific religious groups or belief systems. I don’t want one religion to take precidence over another. If anyone of a certain religion wants to make transcripts to that audio available, by all means, use the #Access4All hashtag so anyone can access these if interested.
4. I will not transcribe audio from content that suggests participation in unsafe challenges. So, no transcripts discussing the taste and/or texture of tide pods will be allowed. :)
If everyone can keep these things in mind, I grately appreciate it. In the coming days I’ll write a blog post that details everything we’ve discussed, along with details about the formats I’ll be using in my transcripts. Thank you, and happy transcribing!
