@nixCraft Thought this might be interesting and from past experience I agree 1000% that AWS is shite. https://www.theregister.com/2025/11/04/aws_genz_misery_nope/

Deploying to Amazon's cloud is a pain in the AWS younger devs won't tolerate

So us-east-1 being down actually fucked our orchard workday up massively!

We could not print shipping labels, so even though we got some prep work done, we couldn't ship today as planned because we rely on the shipping discount we get through the service that we use to run our online store, and we use the data that customers input there to create the shipping labels.

What the ever living hell? Don't people who design these things understand that when you've got almost a single point of failure, it is, of course, going to fucking fail?

Perhaps they really just don't fucking care. 🀬

Anyway, its effect has trickled all the way down to our small business, basically grinding us to a halt.

This fucking sucks! I had hoped for a day off tomorrow, but now, no.

Sent an abuse report (including logs) to AWS about a machine on one of their IP addresses smashing my web server with requests to download various potential backup filenames. Five days later they have verified that the IP address is in fact one of theirs, and that they

"reached out to our customer to determine the nature and cause of this activity or content in your report"

Thanks for throwing all of your resources at this one AWS... you're really helping to minimize the damage your customer is trying to do. :blobcatmiddlefinger: #awssucks #amazonsucks
