For ADAP assistance in GA, income level is limited to 400% of the $15,960 FPL (2026 single), but FL just dropped their allowance to 130% of $15,960 (2026 single), us restrictions on Biktarvy access. I cannot imagine the fear this must bring.

Florida Department of Health cuts to HIV, AIDS program enacted as thousands risk losing access

Health officials blamed rising health care costs and lack of federal funding.

ABC News

#HIV #ADAP More than 16,000 Floridians will lose ADAP coverage for their HIV meds. Additionally, Biktarvy and Descovy have been removed from the formulary. Biktarvy is, nationwide, one of the most commonly used HIV meds. This sounds like the drug companies will lose a lot of business when people can no longer access their needed meds, so they should bring pressure to bear. Resistance will mushroom, as will opportunistic infections, and death.

Florida’s Changes to Its AIDS Drug Assistance Program Will Cause Harm

Over 16,000 Floridians could lose HIV care through ADAP and the program no longer covers at least one effective regimen, writes IAPAC.

#ADAP #HIV Ron Desantis has signed legislation which SEVERELY cuts eligibility for ADAP coverage of HIV meds. The most commonly prescribed meds retail for $4000+/month, so this destroys coverage for 40% (of ~30,000) of those in FL currently using ADAP. AIDS diagnoses (and thus HIV diagnoses themselves)will definitely surge from this action, with a lot of death we thought we had left behind. HIV has been considered fully controllable for several decades now.

DeSantis Puts Tens of Thousands of Lives at Risk by Gutting Florida’s AIDS Drug Assistance Program

“Floridians living with HIV will suffer,” warns AIDS United in a statement that also lays out five actions the state must take right now.

Demonstration/rally at the Alberta Legislature in Edmonton TOMORROW in protest of ADAP & proposed AISH changes.

This morning I went to a #protest to #recall the #Premier of #Alberta, #DanielleSmith.

Hate to say it, but I wish there were more people there, and too many people who WERE there were #canvasing for #ForeverCanada, the #petition to NOT #secede. I had to tell at least five people I already signed it in Sherwood Park.

Euuugghhhh the proposed disability changes are even worse than I realised. I just read an extensive analysis. Probably should've waited until tomorrow to do that but eehhhh too late now.

There's a phone town hall tomorrow and a virtual town hall Monday, going to try and attend both. Or at least the one on Monday. Though they sure didn't listen to the folks they "consulted" with at the start so I doubt they will do so now.

I'm going to get knocked into deeper poverty by January 1 2028 hooray. 🙃 I mean I know I'm kind of lucky even for disability recipients because I can save money and go places and have subscriptions and spending money and not have to live on ramen but if I want to keep any of those (as in pick one) I'll have to get rid of the rest. 🙃

Part of this is Calgary is very expensive to live in. One of the highest in Canada.

Here's the analysis of the changes:

#DanielleSmith and the UCP have gone too far this time!! Forcing the disabled off of #AISH (Assisted income for the severely handicapped) a system that works! And onto #ADAP (Alberta Disability Assistance Program) a system designed by HER government?! Can ONLY be destructive youtu.be/B5vjaS3P1No?...

AISH and ADAP - because the UC...
AISH and ADAP - because the UCP doesn’t care about the disability community #ucp #daniellesmith
