For the tenth week in my book a week for a whole year I've chosen Musashi, the fictionalised lifestory of the legendary samurai by Eiji Yoshikawa.

Bit late getting to this, but for week nine in my book a week for a whole year challenge I've chosen the sequel to The Ring, Koji Suzuki's Spiral. I had no idea they made a film of this one too, I must check it out.

Book eight in my book a week for a whole year is Living Dangerously by noted explorer Ranulph Fiennes. I've had this book for a while but never gotten around to reading it.

Oh, I almost forgot! I did read #ABookAWeek last week: Bookshops and Bonedust. It was great, although I think I liked Legends and Lattes a bit more.

This week is Eragon! I’ve heard quite a bit about Paolini (and I know his new book just came out a couple months ago), but have never read any of his stuff. I did see the Eragon movie way back in the day… but I think I can very very easily pretend that I haven’t. 😂

Week seven and another horror novel. Adam Nevill's The Ritual, a grotesque Black Metal folk-horror set in Sweden.

For week 6 I've gone with a book I should've known about. I've seen the movies obviously, but I had no idea they were based on a novel. Koji Suzuki's Ring.

I totally missed out on reading #ABookAWeek this past week… it's been a crazy few days. However since I've been reading ahead, I'm still *averaging* more than a book a week, which is good enough for me.

I'm expecting that this week I'll have more time and can get around to reading #BookshopsAndBonedust.

For week 5 of my book a week for a whole year I've chosen Babel: Or the Necessity of Violence by Rebecca F. Kuang. A story about language, magic, and the evils of colonialism.

Some of the non-#BrandonSanderson books on my #ABookAWeek list include Eragon, Contact, The Broken Earth (+sequels), Good Omens, Stardust, the Autobiography of Benjamin Sisko, maybe some more Murderbot, maybe a re-read of The Expanse, and maybe some Rothfuss.

If you’ve got sci-fi/fantasy recommendations, I'd love to hear them! 😃

This past week I re-read "Tress of the Emerald Sea", my favorite of #BrandonSanderson's four Secret Projects. That only took me a couple of days, so I also read "Legends and Lattes". It was *delightful*: a cozy fantasy story with low stakes and fun characters. It only took me a couple of hours to read it.

For my next #ABookAWeek, I'll likely read the sequel (although apparently it's actually a prequel?), and maybe toss in something else as well.
