THE OUTDOOR MUSEUM…
A surprisingly modernist building for the time it was built, it is now a cafe in Cygnet, southeast Tasmania.

Were it not for the curly decorations either side of the date and were there no date of construction, the building could almost be mistaken for and Art Deco design that would not appear for a further 15 or so years.

The signs of the prophets, Simon and Garfunkel sang, are written on the subway wall. That might be so, but I'm not sure the signs on the walls and lamp posts in the southern Tasmanian town of Cygnet really are written by prophets.
