Thinking about the four-day workweek. #4dww #4dwg
- Easy to implement in a large customer-service business. Hire slightly more people, let them work 4 day weeks, have the same number of staff on deck as before, similar staffing costs.
- Hard in a small customer service business. A one-person barber shop with a 4-day week is just closed more. If you want to cover that extra day, suddenly there are HR costs.
- Easy enough in a large non-customer facing organisation, like a government department or TV station. The question is whether the staff are actually as productive in four days as they were in five.
