What are third places?
Third Places, are social spaces that serve as a balance to the two primary areas of life: the First Place (home) and the Second Place (work). The term was coined in 1989 by American sociologist Ray Oldenburg in his book The Great Good Place. He describes Third Places as meeting spots that provide individuals with the opportunity to connect, build relationships, and exchange ideas without the pressure of work or family obligations.
