newt (6398)i am trying to install fastboot on a #3ds, but get an error about the file being broken and i can't unzip the archive it comes in. Same problem with an older release. Does anyone know how to fix this?

but when I was going through the data that's on it, the only game Pokemon Omega Ruby, has a lot of hours in it...
now I'm wondering if I can back that up and then wipe the system? is that even worth it? 
could that backed up pokemon data load up in a different 3DS later? in a wild just incase scenario?

enabling it flashes the screen from white to dark extremely quickly,
