The admission of Russian and Belarusian athletes to international competitions is a slap in the face for Ukrainians. We take a clear position on this issue and will take appropriate measures, – the Minister of the Interior of Germany, Nancy Faeser.
Pero considers it necessary to ban the entry of athletes from the Russian Federation and Belarus into the territory of Germany in the event of their admission to the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
"Countries that host major sporting events are not powerless. They can control the participation of Russians in them by issuing visas. If we organize international competitions in Germany, we can act accordingly. We will always take a clear position here. To give Putin a propaganda stage would be treason of all the values of sport," Faeser said.
