@CSB Succinct halftime review of #SecretInvasion; only watch it if you like the genre. It is, above an #MCU project, a genre show. There’s much more DNA with, say, #24onFOX or #TheXFiles than even something like #AgentsOfSHIELD, which I’d say is the most similar #MCU project to #SecretInvasion.

Main characters are put in an interesting place at the start but they don’t seem to be going anywhere throughout the runtime. We also don’t get as many fight scenes as the trailer insinuates that we’d get. The best thing about the series is a death scene at the end of the third episode.

I wouldn’t say that the characters are unlikeable, more like they’re boring. Also, the villain comes off as slightly dumb.

One of the few spoilers my parents gave me of this show is that Jack ends up not dying, but goes to a Mosque to pray to God before he is healed from the virus.

S06 seems to set up that he’s okay with death, but #24Redemption and S07 both set up that the wrestles a bit with the ethics of his behavior. He believed that testifying before Congress would atone for his actions, and when he couldn’t do that, he’s at a loss for how to live with himself. The folks at the #FBI are pointing out some inconvenient truths to him even if to some extent he has been right that certain things had to be done.

They didn’t like the plotline but it seems like it kinda works. Lots of people try to turn to God when they are dying, and he’s the nearest religious dude.

@lnxw37b2 Haha perhaps 😂 But that’s usually reserved for stuff with gruesome injuries like #911onFOX, or plenty of blood like #24onFOX (even 9-1-1 is afraid to show a realistic amount of blood!), and while I haven’t seen the #WWE, I can’t imagine it has much of either.

It was really the S that caught my eye a bit more though…like, it’s wrestling…why would they need to sexualize it? Especially when it’s men fighting, when I’d assume that the primary audience is men.
