21 February is apparently International Mother Language Day

The most interesting thing I've heard lately about Mother Tongue-Based Multilingual Education, is that its primary purpose and selling point to government, is that it is not for language (Sprache) development or even reversing language shift, but rather for mental/academic development. What do you all think?
