@cadellin Again Worms being the one game that gets multiple mentions.
It was also the game in my #1995InVideoGames posts that got way more boosts and favorites than any other game with no competition.
I had no contact with the rest of the videogame world outside of my circle of 8 kids from my class. But I am wondering if Worms was widely perceived as one of the hit sensations of 1995 back 30 years ago.
Or it was just really compelling to people who would later make Mastodon accounts. 😆
And this concludes the #1995InVideoGames series. It will be continued next year with #1996InVideoGames, though it's going to be a couple of weeks before the first major game's 30th release date.
Hopefully with all games being posted on time in the correct order, now that I am much better prepared.

The big surprises for me where Ceasar II and The Dig with both at 10/4, MechWarrior 2 with 12/3, and WipEout with 11/7.
But the uncontested winner of popular support was Worms with 39 favorites and 22 boost! 🎇 😮
But it really was, and still is, a really great game. 😄
The lineup for 1996 is the same length as it was for 1995, but as someone who started playing in 97/98, I think there's a lot more big famous classics reaching 30 next year.
One thing I noticed doing the #1995InVideoGames series is that people here on Mastodon seem to have been much more PC players 25-30 years ago than console players.
Always much more favorites and boosts for PC games than for console games.
And fighting games in particular got almost no responses at all. Street Fighter Alpha got 4 favorites and 1 boost, Tekken and Killer Instinct both got 1 favorite each, and Mortal Kombat 3 got nothing at all.
