Agi: Una caverna nel cuore di Parigi: la folle opera di JR con l'ex dei Daft Punk

AGI - Al centro di Parigi, l'iconico Pont Neuf viene trasformato in una immensa caverna immersiva allestita dal noto artista JR. Lo riferisce l'emittente Bfmtv che dedica un servizio al progetto titanico di JR, diventato famoso per la tecnica del "collage" fotografico nell'ambito della produzione di monumentali installazioni di arte pubblica.
La struttura, realizzata in tela stampata, crea un effetto trompe-l'oeil di immense rocce che adorneranno il ponte piu' antico della capitale dal 6 al 28 giugno. L'opera rende omaggio alla coppia di artisti Christo e Jeanne-Claude, che 40 anni fa aveva avvolto il ponto in un enorme imballaggio.

La "grotta" di JR rappresenta un'impresa tecnica concepita in collaborazione con ingegneri, costruttori e artisti. Per dare vita al suo gigante di tessuto gonfiato, l'artista ha affidato la dimensione sonora a Thomas Bangalter, ex membro del duo Daft Punk. Uno artista acustico, l'altro esperto di fotocollage, hanno unito le forze con altre 800 persone per erigere montagne lunghe 120 metri, larghe 20 metri e alte fino a 18 metri nel cuore della capitale francese.

La caverna, il cui allestimento è in corso, attirerà sicuramente decine di migliaia di visitatori curiosi. Sarà accessibile gratuitamente a partire dal 6 giugno, 24 ore su 24, sette giorni su sette.
Il precedente storico del 1985
Nel settembre e ottobre 1985, Christo e Jeanne-Claude ricoprirono il celebre Pont-Neuf per due settimane con 41.800 metri quadrati di tessuto, fissati con 13 chilometri di funi e 12 tonnellate di cavi d'acciaio. Milioni di visitatori accorsero ad ammirare questa insolita opera d'arte.

AGI - At the center of Paris, the iconic Pont Neuf is being transformed into a vast, immersive cave created by the renowned artist JR. This is reported by the BFMTV broadcaster, which dedicates a segment to JR’s colossal project, who has become famous for his photographic “collage” technique in the production of monumental public art installations.

The structure, made of printed canvas, creates a trompe-l'oeil effect of immense rocks that will adorn the oldest bridge of the capital from June 6th to June 28th. The work pays homage to the artist couple Christo and Jeanne-Claude, who 40 years ago had wrapped the bridge in a huge wrapping.

JR’s “grotto” represents a technical undertaking conceived in collaboration with engineers, builders, and artists. To bring to life his giant of inflated fabric, the artist entrusted the sound dimension to Thomas Bangalter, former member of the Daft Punk duo. One artist acoustic, the other expert in photocolage, have joined forces with other 800 people to erect mountains 120 meters long, 20 meters wide, and up to 18 meters high in the heart of the French capital.

The cave, whose installation is underway, will surely attract tens of thousands of curious visitors. It will be accessible free of charge from June 6th, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

In September and October 1985, Christo and Jeanne-Claude covered the famous Pont-Neuf for two weeks with 41,800 square meters of fabric, fixed with 13 kilometers of ropes and 12 tons of steel cables. Millions of visitors came to admire this unusual work of art.
