Sebbene il calendario dica che siamo nel pieno della primavera, il meteo racconta un’altra storia. Da giorni, infatti, sull’Italia domina il maltempo, accompagnato da temperature inferiori alla media stagionale, con un trend che sembra destinato a peggiorare nelle prossime ore, quando è atteso un nuovo calo termico. Secondo i modelli previsionali più aggiornati, le colonnine di mercurio potrebbero segnare valori addirittura inferiori a quelli registrati tre mesi fa, cioè in pieno inverno.
A spiegare cosa sta succedendo è Lorenzo Tedici, meteorologo responsabile media de iLMeteo.it, secondo cui una massiccia irruzione di aria fredda proveniente dal Mare del Nord sta facendo crollare i termometri su livelli tipicamente autunnali.
Uno sbalzo termico che potrebbe riportare perfino la neve sull’arco alpino, a quote eccezionalmente basse per il periodo: orientativamente fino ai 1300 metri di altitudine. Nevicate sono previste anche sulle Dolomiti, dove si attendono accumuli significativi, con punte di 20-30 centimetri di neve fresca in alta quota.

Per la giornata odierna, il tempo assomiglierà più a quello autunnale che a quello primaverile, con piogge diffuse e temperature massime che scenderanno fino a 13-15 gradi anche al Centro Italia, attestandosi su valori di 6-8 gradi inferiori rispetto alle medie climatologiche di metà maggio.
Domani la situazione meteorologica peggiorerà ulteriormente. Si prevedono ancora precipitazioni diffuse su gran parte della Penisola, mentre le temperature subiranno un ulteriore, seppur lieve, calo.
Fortunatamente da domenica è atteso un deciso miglioramento, con cieli sereni su gran parte dell’Italia. Tuttavia, proprio l’assenza di nuvole potrebbe favorire un ulteriore calo delle temperature minime, soprattutto al Nord.

For days, inclement weather has dominated Italy, accompanied by temperatures below the seasonal average, with a trend that seems destined to worsen in the coming hours, when a new drop in temperature is expected. According to the most up-to-date forecasts, the mercury columns could register values even lower than those recorded three months ago, i.e., during full winter.

Lorenzo Tedici, meteorologist responsible for media at iLMeteo.it, explains what is happening, according to whom a massive intrusion of cold air from the North Sea is causing thermometers to plummet to typical autumnal levels.

A temperature swing that could even bring snow to the Alps, at exceptionally low altitudes for the period: approximately up to 1300 meters in altitude. Snowfall is also expected in the Dolomites, where significant accumulations are expected, with peaks of 20-30 centimeters of fresh snow at high altitudes.

Winter setback: the weekend will be dominated by inclement weather. And according to the weather forecast, snow will even return on the Alps.

For today's weather, it will resemble autumnal weather more than springtime weather, with widespread rain and maximum temperatures falling to 13-15 degrees even in Central Italy, settling at values 6-8 degrees lower than climatological averages for mid-May.

Tomorrow the weather situation will further deteriorate. Widespread precipitation is still expected across much of the Peninsula, while temperatures will experience another, albeit slight, drop.

Fortunately, a significant improvement is expected from Sunday, with clear skies over much of Italy. However, the absence of clouds could favor further drops in minimum temperatures, especially in the North.

AL CENTRO
Al mattino addensamenti sul versante adriatico con locali fenomeni e neve in Appennino fin verso i 1600 metri, sereno o poco nuvoloso altrove. Al pomeriggio acquazzoni e temporali in sviluppo sui settori interni, neve in Appennino oltre i 1700-1800 metri. Tempo in miglioramento dalla serata con graduali schiarite.
AL SUD E SULLE ISOLE
Al mattino locali piogge su Sardegna, Sicilia occidentale e coste della Campania, asciutto altrove con cieli sereni o poco nuvolosi e nubi basse sui settori adriatici. Al pomeriggio instabilità in aumento con acquazzoni e temporali nelle zone interne sia peninsulari che delle Isole. Migliora dalla serata con ampie schiarite e locali addensamenti bassi.
Temperature minime in generale diminuzione, massime in generale rialzo salvo una lieve flessione sui settori del medio-basso Adriatico.
