自分の娘が（あるいは自分自身が）この Layane Kayyem と名乗る彼女の年齢だったころのことを考えると胸が痛むどころの話ではない

とりあえず二人くらいそのアカウントへのフォロワーが増えたのかな……？

パレスチナの惨状について、〝中東問題〟あるいは〝グローバルなパワーバランス〟とか、そんな切り口で解説をしてくれている人がいて、そしてぼくの知人のなかにもいる

時事問題に通じていたり国際政治についての見識があったりする人の見識や分析に、なるほど、と思うことがないわけではないけど、主語が大きすぎてぼくにはうまくついていけない

ものを知らないぼくの目には、いまパレスチナで起きている地獄としか言いようのような悲劇は、すさまじい不条理に、許しがたい暴力にしか映らない

サイードなんかを流し読みして賢しらに何か知ったような気になっていたけど、実際はなにひとつ理解していなかったんだなーと気付かされ、そんな残念な自分のことを虚しく無気力な人間だと思う。ごめんなさい

〝情勢〟を〝分析〟する人々に対して発するべき言葉がぼくにはない

だから嫌がられるのを承知で、こんな絵を毎日描いているんだと思います

ハーバード大学のリサーチデータのリポジトリ、Harvard Dataverseによると222万7000人いたGazaの人口が現在は185万人ほどに減少しているらしい。どうやって調べたのかは知りようもないけど、Yaakov Garbという研究員がまとめたと記名で報じられている。公表されている死者数は5.5万人とか言われているけど「行方不明者」を含めると約 37万7000人がいなくなったということらしい。
