I know there’s protests about the warehouses used as immigrant detention (April 25), a general strike for Everything (May 1). But may I propose something a little more actionable? Why not reenact Bastille Day (July 14)? Sure, the original didn’t free many people, but even the attempt would have great symbolic value, and, you know, actually be doing something instead of merely standing around with clever signs. #BastilleDay

Eiffel Tower

This is a shot from July 14 last year, on Bastille Day, or Quatorze Juillet in French, when the storming of the Bastille on the same date in 1789 is commemorated. The fireworks and drone show around the Eiffel Tower that late evening lasted for roughly half an hour and was very impressive. This is one of the many shots I got that night.

City of Light

From the observation deck on top of the immensely ugly Tour Montparnasse in Paris, you have two major advantages: firstly, from the tower you don't actually see the skyscraper itself, and secondly, the top floor offers an amazing view over the city.

This was on July 14, or Bastille Day. My next upload will be a shot from the firework and drone show from and around the Tour Eiffel.
