@jik Bravo to you, the other trial participants, and the scientists!
@jik At first I wasn't sure whether I liked the show, but it won me over when Seth McFarlane brought an entire real orchestra on board.
@jik I tried to forward my mail in 2007 when I was spending a month visiting my mother in another state during her final illness. It didn't work then either.
@jik I thought of you when I heard this piece on NPR this morning, about caregivers being stymied by HIPAA: https://www.npr.org/2025/12/09/nx-s1-5601929/hipaa-protects-patient-privacy-but-some-say-it-shuts-out-caregivers
@jik Did a pandemic rewatch of B5. The Night Watch episodes are more chilling than ever.
@nyrath @jik For me it wasn't GEnie, but Usenet: rec.arts.sf.tv.babylon5. When the series moved from broadcast TV to cable, I subscribed to cable for the first time, so JMS indirectly cost me quite a bit of money.
@jik I placed a Chewy order on Friday morning and it was delivered on Saturday shortly after noon. Usually delivery takes a couple of days for me
@mguhlin It worked! Not without some flailing trying to figure out the UI, but I successfully converted two of my books to PDFs and will do the other 90 or so at my leisure. Thanks for the info.
@jik Your interview with the AP is quoted in the L.A. Times today: https://www.latimes.com/world-nation/story/2025-02-25/federal-technology-staffers-resign-rather-than-help-musk-and-doge. Article is "Federal technology staffers resign rather than help Musk and his team," byline is "By Brian Slodysko and Byron Tau." #LATimes #politics #USPol #DOGE #USDS #coup #resist
Federal technology staffers resign rather than help Musk and his team

The staffers who resigned worked for what was once known as the United States Digital Service, established during President Obama's administration.

@mguhlin Thank you! Sounds like it's worth a try.
