like we've really hit the point where companies don't do phone screens anymore, they'd rather hand you something from codesignal and have you spend the majority of the time trying to overwrite __repr__?
easily 90% of the phone screen replacement / "coding test" i just did for an interview was "can you format the output in the esoteric way we want it formatted, because our vscode knockoff can't figure out python object returns"
"This job is remote. We require you to relocate to Columbus, Ohio. You will be required to be in the office 3 days per week".
Recruiter flat out said they could not get candidates to apply if they didn't call this "remote".
I've been unemployed since February. I'm looking at job ads and...I really don't want to do any this shit. It all looks fucking awful. Is this burnout? Does everyone feel this way? Is all of tech just a giant bull shit circle jerk?
