@shoofle reminds me of the "risk" capitalists are taking (their gambling money) vs the risk their workers take (their livelihoods) and how backwards that always gets posed

@shoofle i tend to feel magic driven by emotion/wish-fulfillment would be evolutionarily self-defeating, like it'd be hard for everyone to survive individual developments, much less for the species to evolve altogether, when unchecked feelings and impulses can't really not-exist but could blow things up all over the place at any time? i feel like a functional way for a species to have such abilities could involve some counterintuitivity in application that makes it very deliberate
