Hey Mastodon! It’s been a while. It’s been a busy summer. I have a very important question for which I need your collective insight, and reposts appreciated!
I am teaching a class on web basics to students at my local design college. And part of job is to make to take notes to update the existing curriculum.
I need a check on my biases regarding the emphasis on W3Schools in the current curriculum.
What do you say, is W3Schools valid education material for new learners, or not?
Thank you!
[Programmers naming something they made]:
"I call it Aristaeus, after the Greek god of cheese. Here's the logo, the docs, and a mascot. It uses a paradigm I invented, which I call 'sigjections.' Under the hood..."
[Programmers when they have to name a CSS class]:
"Noooo don't make me think of things, we shouldn't ask our brains to invent stuff, whyyyy this language is so broken"
“Liking” a post isn’t going to change the world.
You have to repost it.
Unfortunately I could not contribute to you FLOSS project as you wanted me to join a discord server to read the documentation.
I will not do this.
Discord servers are no place for documentation. Stop doing this.

A lost contributor
Grammar PSA: This (below) is a wringer. Before electric clothes dryers, you'd wash your clothes, then put them through this to remove excess water before hanging them to dry. As you can imagine, your clothes look awful and wrinkled after squeezing them like that, which is why everything needed to be ironed back in the day.
So if you've had a really hard time and you feel worn out and flattened, you've been "put through the wringer," not "put through the ringer."
