Dashboard of US dependencies: https://berthub.eu/articles/posts/dashboard-amerikaanse-afhankelijkheden/

Just minor things would stop working here if orange man snaps his fingers:
- pensions and benefits
- local/regional governments, parliament
- train movements
- all things healthcare
- banks, central bank, paying by card
- the two news organisations that own all papers and websites
- crisis.nl where we're told to look when the sirens go off
- defence

Source may be best translated using an (US!) LLM due to the agencies mostly being acronyms 😕

Dashboard totale Amerikaanse afhankelijkheden - Bert Hubert's writings

Simple Sabotage Field Manual 2026:

Encourage reckless LLM adoption. Exaggerate successes. Cultivate FOMO about it.

The two hardest problems in Computer Science are:

1. Getting up in the morning

Oh you think your Home Assistant install is cursed?

A friend of mine has a broken fridge thermostat. For the last year it has been regulated by Home Assistant using a zigbee temperature sensor, turning the entire fridge off and on with a smart plug. He likes this.

The most succinct and accurate description of the Old Web I’ve seen to date.

Modern work:

you get a message in Slack with a link to the Confluence doc to prep for the meeting on Zoom, where you take notes in Notion, and track project progress on Monday and then update the Trello and you get to the end of the week and instead of doing fucking anything you've just moved bits of information around in 17 different databases and each one costs $15 a month per user...

i didn't submit a talk for 37c3 because there's a rule forbidding the promotion of commercial products (the german rules say "auch nicht verdeckt"), which i think is inevitable in our case. we make OSHW but we also sell it to be able to survive doing that.

edit: i just got a reply explaining how to register a workshop ("self organized session", list will be announced in the event blog) or a lightning talk (but there will be less space this year, so might not work out). thanks!
