@bartavi @djoerd @xot @researchfairy Because sometimes, formatting and layout is as important as the content? How do you send out your CV? As an .epub? .docx? .svg? No, as a .pdf - because that *just* works, every time, everywhere. Send out/print a contract? A book? .pdf.

Not to mention that vector graphics can be added to a .pdf, or even the other capabilities of .pdf related to encryption/security and digital signatures for example.

@djoerd @xot @researchfairy Yeah, nah. Good luck getting an .epub *displayed/printed* exactly the same everywhere.

Don't get me wrong, .epub is great for reading (thanks to its flexibility). However, .pdf is superior when it comes to transferring a file and making sure it's displayed and printed as it is meant by its creator.

@richlv I had to check it for myself, because I had a hard time believing it. It is indeed almost half a gigabyte, what the...

Only reason I can think is that the Gmail app also has 'Meet' functionality built-in (for videocalls), affecting the app size.

Assuming it's T-SQL, why not use STRING_AGG instead of the STUFF & FOR XML PATH combo?

And why not just 'DROP TABLE IF EXISTS dbo.c_tableau_collector_pathway_tbl'?

@deanfx Can't handle Ivory with all its gestures, but that's possibly because I recently switched from Android and wasn't used to gestures (I still am not, give me a physical button that always works).

I'm using #Mona on iOS / iPhone 15 Pro Max. Works flawless for me.

@nixCraft I suddenly miss Geocities...

@mrshake @nixCraft If you have Android, you can still use apps with your own developer key. (Or at least, RIF was still working for me a few months ago.)

On iOS, you gotta pay or use the official app, unfortunately.

However, in the browser, old.reddit.com and RES are pretty good combo.

@nixCraft Enshittification of Google has been going on for years. I'm still furious about how the search engine ignores the plus sign and double quotes.

I sometimes use "before:2023" (or another year) to ignore results with AI, maybe that helps in your case as well.
