Oh great I’ve joined another social network
@Xenocrypt sometimes I want to learn to build a twitter bot so I can just reply “what’s a cover that’s better than the original” to every one of his tweets
@lexfri omg I say this out loud to my wife every time this kind of thing appears. Which is a lot of times! Explicit vomit depictions should be an automatic NC-17
Bunny Lake Is Missing is a pretty solid 60s psychological thriller that I hadn’t heard of until a few months ago. Story a little goofy in stretches, but good-to-great performances and lots of terrific shots. Definitely worth a watch when you’re in the mood for a “crime victim or delusion person or both or neither?” kinda thing
Like, I get if it doesn’t win Best Picture but it should’ve been nominated for that and probably Actor + Actress and should be a strong contender for Director
I tell myself that I don’t care about awards shows of any kind, but here I am mad that Decision to Leave didn’t get any Oscar nominations…
Too many goddamn languages use semicolons & curly brackets (tho tbf I have no idea if Rust or Ruby do so). Curly brackets are like ok whatever, gotta delimit blocks somehow. But semicolons are just dumb. Oh the compiler needs to know I finished the line? Ok, I hit the Return key for that.
@jeromio idk what pandas does or why I’m even learning python but I do appreciate a language that’s like “fuck it, no curly brackets, no semicolons, and indentation is syntax”
Also weird double underscore names for constructors and initializers are gross, just use a normal name like constr or whatever it is PHP does.

Hmm okay Python’s OOP syntax is weird and I don’t like it

Like why do you have to include self as the first argument in method definitions if you’re not gonna actually put a parameter there in the call? What the heck
