Oh, damn, this was terribly confusing!

I saw it grey, but checked, so I thought it was disabled AND checked, so no possibility of unchecking it (except from DevTools).

Turns out grey & checked look is actually unchecked. Pink is hover/ focus/ checked. Sigh...
