True true. I think I see it
like this good old xkcd.
xkcdEspecially since a grease fire is very hard to put out unless you smother it. Using an extinguisher on a grease fire is not a good idea.

YSK Defibrillators doesn't restart a stopped heart - Lemmy.world
Why YSK: TV has lied to you. If a cardiac arrest happens and you have an AED
defibrillator at hand you might still need to do chest compressions. 1. When you
open up the AED there will be instructions on how to apply the electrodes as
well as any other procedure needed to get started. 2. The machine will first
analyze the heart’s rhythm to find out if a shock can restore the heart. 3. If
the machine doesn’t find anything it will instruct you to perform CPR. After a
while it will then instruct you to stand by as it does another analysis. 4. It
will once again either deliver a shock or instruct you to go back to CPR. Do
this routine indefinitely until medical services has arrived. You will be tired.
Switch out with another person if there are other people who can help. 5. Some
AED’s are automatic and will warn you to stand back and deliver a shock. Others
will need you to press a button to deliver the shock yourself. Make sure not to
touch the person as the machine delivers the shock.
The real YSK is of course in the comment. =)
Thank you for expanding on this. It's always important to make sure you are prepared. You don't have time to google these things when the disaster is at hand. If you're not prepared when a fire breaks out you might panic and make dumb decisions. This goes for all stressful situations of course. Make sure you have some plan for common emergencies. That goes for medical emergencies as well as fires.

YSK There are many different types of fire extinguishers - Lemmy.world
Why YSK: If you’re planning to get an extinguisher for your home you need to
know that not all extinguishers can put out all types of fire. There are many
intricate details if you’re interested but for the most part, a dry powder
extinguisher can put out many types of fires at the cost of being incredibly
messy. On the other hand, a carbon dioxide extinguisher is perfect for
electronic fires and doesn’t require much clean up. Make sure to get an
extinguisher for your needs. Maybe consider getting multiple extinguishers. As
an addendum: If you use a fire extinguisher even just a little you need to
either discard it or refill it depending on type. Never put the extinguisher
back as is.
I'm not really into Marvel anymore, but please continue posting. There are too few people here yet but diligence will help these places grow. It's like the mod of /r/disney said on Kbin. A subreddit of 500k people like Disney only generated a few dozen posts a day. It's difficult to start from scratch but we need people like you!
Thank you for your service.
Seems like the cat squished itself...
Same thing for me. But I mostly lurk on reddit. I'd like to make an effort to post here though!
Other people have said the important parts. I'm not sure if you were on reddit for long. But if you think back to the early days of reddit it was not stable as you might think now. The site was constantly down and there were many bugs. The user interface was still in development. Lemmy could be a diamond in the rough. Give it some sharpening and it will be a good place. I guess it's up to the users.
