The Vermont State University has a remarkably short-sighted money saving plan to go "all digital" with their libraries. This is a terrible idea. Once announced, they've been back-tracking, changing their website to make this seem more palatable. The Vermont Library Association released a statement yesterday. Planning for a real summer this year…
Teaching a new class for the first time is incredibly time consuming, all the more so when it's not really your wheelhouse...it makes me remember teaching English as an adjunct and the disproportionate amount of work that required. Academia is exploitative beyond belief.
