Dr. Richardson’s Letter analyses the many attempts to force christian mythology (my word) into control of government. An excellent read.

—————

My take: The confederacy’s ideal of subordination under white men lives on today. They are trying to force this as a replacement of our government.

There is NO PLACE for white supremacy in a modern world. The thought of subjugation or white supremacy is sickening. All are equal.

There is NO PLACE for religion in government. Religious belief (or disbelief) is individual and cannot not be forced.

@rubenerd I really love RSS, but I avoid newsletters or anything else that loads up my inbox. I have ten currently working email addresses of which seven of them are in almost constant use. And the numbers are only that low because I've retired from that business. There are so many things that depend on it that I would have a hard time eliminating email entirely, but I'm seriously considering cutting it down to only two and deleting all of the other accounts. (and this does not count the aliases I have to segregate email into categories for filtering.)

Seeing more people advocate for replacing aggregator sites like Reddit, HN, Lobsters, Discord etc for news with RSS, which is wonderful.

May I also be an advocate for the humble mailing list too. I’m a fly on the wall 99% of the time (imposter syndrome blah blah) but even then the conversations and shared links are always interesting.

If it’s an established OS, tool, etc, chances are they have a mailing list.

This is a random reminder that your life won't run itself, and if you don't run it some other people will be happy to do that for you but they won't have your best interests in mind.

The reminder is mostly for me, but feel free to take it too if it's useful.

“Officials in the Trump administration have been treating members of Congress with contempt since Trump took office, deliberately flouting the 1974 Impoundment Act … and ignoring the 1973 War Powers Act that requires congressional approval for military actions that last more than 60 days.

“Now, with their disregard for the Epstein Files Transparency Act, they are also treating voters … with outright contempt.”

Disappearing images from the #EpsteinFiles AFTER release is TOTALLY not suspicious at all. Move along, nothing to see here! 🤡

Some of the Epstein files are missing a day after their release

The Justice Department’s webpage for documents related to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein is missing at least 16 of its files a day after they were released. The files, which were no longer available Saturday after being uploaded to the site Friday, included photographs showing paintings of nude women and a credenza holding various photos of people including President Donald Trump. The discrepancies fueled online speculation about whether they were intentionally removed and why the public wasn't notified — questions the Justice Department didn't immediately answer. The missing files contributed to the long-simmering intrigue about Epstein and the powerful people who surrounded him, which wasn't quelled by the Justice Department's much-anticipated release of records Friday.

@rubenerd Based upon decades of personal and professional experience, them getting a clue is NOT assured! Wishing you luck!

For whatever reason, Github banned my IP for one hour and I need to see what my students have been doing.

They must contribute to the opensource project of their choice and 99% of them end up on Github

And, yes, I have a Github account even if I would like to get rid of it. But I can’t grade my students.

Monopolies are bad. You think that it happens to other? It will hurt you deeply, sooner or later. It will hit you when you least expect it.

@rubenerd perhaps vague, but undoubtedly accurate. I'm beginning to treasure BSD and those Linux variants that are free of SystemD infection.

Turns out the author of Kinetic Worm Dimension, a fast paced "three dimensional" implementation of Snake, still had a backup of the original 1999 DOS version of the game. It was previously unpreserved on the Internet, so he decided to share it.

All versions are now available for download here: https://archive.org/details/kinetic-worm-dimension-v111
