I'm Charlotte, novelist and writing teacher and resident of Portland, Oregon (yes, I still like living here). When I heard Kathy Griffin (not sure how to properly tag people yet) describe Mastodon as "old-fashioned Twitter" I was sold. I'm hoping this is a place to have civil and useful conversations, make connections and form community--like Twitter was in the early days..
