@piofthings @gadgetoid I think the userbase hating him with a fiery burning passion, might have helped, but yeah, he hasn't been involved for quite a while now.
@rbender @adafruit Should do, that's how I2C/Stemma QT works.
Cannot imagine how off the vibes would be in the alternate universe where Biden didn't drop out and the entire week was just nervousness about whether Biden would be able to get through the acceptance speech. #uspol
Here’s my dream plan, which would take 5 years and probably less than $5B:
* We replace Social Secutity Numbers (which are like having a username with no password!) with disposable, single-use IDs of similar format, perhaps by adding letters so we have enough identifiers
* People could get a new number anytime from the Social Security Admin website or app, by calling a number, or by going to a post office
* Credit scores and credit info brokers are required to only have info you choose to share
@mathowie Reminds me of the bit at the end of the title sequence for Never Stop Blowing Up, though he punches a helicopter..

@gadgetoid I actually did mean doing it electrically + with software to add Matter/HomeKit/Homebridge support, though I wonder if it might indeed be easier to get a fan with a remote and lots of speeds, and take it apart and add a microcontroller that can just poke the built-in speed controller like that.
@cabel I mean, IKEA did literally just add this bowl to their product catalogue..

HƖSTAGILLE Bowl with lid - brown - IKEA

IKEA - HƖSTAGILLE, Bowl with lid, brown, Look! It's a pumpkin! And it’s also in brown glass to match nature’s autumn colours. This bowl with a lid is decorative on its own, but also has room for small things. The lid keeps dust and flies away from the contents.

@gadgetoid I currently have an old Honeywell branded plug in one, though I’m not opposed to getting a newer one. The closest I’ve found are fancy ones Duux sell, but no Matter, no API, and even the Google/Alexa support doesn’t let you control speed.
