One of the sites visited today on the scavenger hunt was a collection of grain elevators now referred to as Silo City. In the background here is the "Marine "A" Elevator" which is currently vacant (in keeping with the challenge theme) though is sometimes the setting for concerts and spoken word presentations. Other elevators at Silo City are in active use storing grain, while others were just converted into apartments and offices. It's said that #waltergropius and #LeCorbusier were influenced by their stark functionality. Yesterday I rode around Buffalo as part of a bicycle scavenger hunt contest visiting specific abandoned former industrial building. This is part of the King Sewing Machine factory.
