@JessTheUnstill @nechesh @kajer this! Mental health matters. I’m thinking of quitting but the first post imploring us to maximize how much we extract gave me a flash of guilt, and left second guessing whether I should just keep the peek-career job just to milk it like a soulless mercenary. No thanks! Good message about not feeling guilty looking for higher pay though. It just hits wrong for those of us who want to opt out entirely.

@kirakira I did not have a good time with math classes until upper division, and even then I only enjoyed half of them. Somehow I got a whole degree in math. I don’t recommend it if you aren’t looking at the course catalog excitedly wondering how to pick one because they all look too interesting.

Diff Eq requires immense patience and a reason for caring about it for it to not feel like torture, in my tragic experience. It could be good if you love physics or engineering!

@whyrl keeping the essence while changing the form is less scary. I like that continuity.
I might also be ready for a new name (even if the fursona stays the same) which complicates things socially. But I could make those changes stepwise. There are no rules.

@Luissen that’s totally an option! I’ve never had more than one and I’m curious how that feels. Especially in spaces where we are known by our furry names.

I am contemplating a new fursona but I don't know how to go about creating a new one. My fursona is about half my own age now, and is a part of me. But as I change, my fursona needs to come along for the ride. Maybe it's evolutionary, maybe it's revolutionary. I don't know yet.

Have other folks gone through that thought process?

Hi Fediverse! I used to write software before AI put an abrupt stop to writing much of anything at all.

On the plus side, I leave the house and do things with other people more and sit at a desk less.
