I was inspired by @geoff 's post in January about his changing roles to reflect and celebrate the fact that I am "still here." I am grateful that I found a place where my skills and experience are valued and needed.

In January, I read Geoff Graham’s article, Changing Roles. It dawned on him that somehow at sometime, he stopped being a web designer. It was not something he necessarily intended to happen. He took advantage of different opportunities and evolved into a new role. Web educator is the best way to describe his role these […]

I have used subgrid to solve several layout problems recently in my work. I share lessons that I have learned and examples. I also point to some examples in @joshwcomeau's recent article on subgrid.

For the March #IndieWeb blogging carnival, the topic is "Museum memories." I took a cue from @artlung and reflected on two different museum experiences that came to my mind this morning. It was also a fun exercise to list different museums I have visited.

Two Museum Memories

This month the topic for the IndieWeb Blog Carnival is "Museum Memories." I decided to take a cue from Joe Crawford and share about two museum memories, one from the Design Museum of Barcelona and the second, the Salvador Dalí Museum in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Some reflections I wrote on Saturday as I was visiting my son in Murray, Kentucky.

Murray, Kentucky

I am visiting Murray this weekend to go to a Murray State basketball game with my son. It may be one of my last trips here as my son will graduate in May.

I got to see The Fellowship of the Ring in a movie theater for the first time in 25 years. I started a trial of Polypane (and loving it). And @Cyd's new site design caught my eye. All this plus links and other things that made up my week.

I have seen a couple of other people post an updated list of the apps they are using so I thought I would join in the fun.

There are many different ways that I could tell the story of my year. One way is through numbers. It doesn’t tell the whole story, but it gives a good sense of my journey and a starting point to share what shaped my year.

Playing around with grid-lanes in a personal project. I 💟 love feature queries. I like that the syntax takes advantage of existing code in CSS grid. So much easier to learn.

Last weeknote for 2025. I wrote a weeknote every week this year. It was not a goal that I set for myself but it motivated me at the end of the year to keep up because I knew I had a shot at hitting every week.

The work slowed down a little bit this week so I took some time to learn about web components, JavaScript, and subgrid. I also enjoyed celebrating my birthday with most of my family (just missing my son).
