It does have “undocumented administrative features” and “development tools mistakenly enabled in production”, but not backdoors.

Really sad to see, it didn't even last that long, Hyperion had to be crippled a bit to make it work on Linux and then exploiters started to migrate to Linux to try to cheat again. ​​

Payday 2 has native Linux support and it's never had any issues at all, it runs super smooth at max and launches surprisingly fast.
Until... I wanted to play with a friend, I forgot that the native Linux build was no longer being updated because of them adding Epic Online Services to PD2, so, I waited a good few hours to reinstall the Windows version of the game and managed to play with my friend! Until I got randomly disconnected from the game. Relaunched. Ok, new invite, let's join! Infinite loading screen. Relaunched. Finally, I managed to connect, ran nicely under Proton and then game froze completely... Relaunched. Rejoin friend, infinite loading screen. Relaunched. Friend left the game

I fucking hate you @timsweeneyepic please stop making game developers add shitty services which breaks native Linux support sweeney

Valve is seeing an increasing number of bug reports for issues caused by Canonical's repackaging of the Steam client through snap.

The best way to install Steam on Debian and derivative operating systems is to follow the instructions at https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-for-linux/#getting-started and use the official .deb

We are not involved with the snap repackaging. It has a lot of issues.

If you don't want the .deb, please at least consider the flatpak version.
