Have you ever seen a Prussian Kingdom Passport from 1912?
–
The holder is Viktor Henry, from Breslau (now Wrocław, Poland). The passport contains records of his travels to Hungary, Turkey, and Romania. At the time of his travels, he was likely still a philosophy student.
#passport #ephemera #antique #germany #history #collectionHave you ever seen an old Japanese passport issued in 1925? The holders of this passport were a mother and her daughter, according to the statement above, they traveled with the father all the way from Tokyo to Hongkong, Singapore and eventually Borneo. However, the stamp on the backside also indicates that the ship made a short stop in Keelung, a city in northern Taiwan. (Taiwan was a part of Imperial Japan back then!)
Btw, due to the commerce, there was a big Japanese population in Borneo.
Who’s also a big fan of classical music?
Here’s a collection of 18 Beethoven’s sheet music books, published by Offenbach a/M. bei Johann André in Germany, assumably no later than 1860s. Beautifully printed and designed. However I wonder if they’re only in Red, Orange, Blue and Green?
#music #classicalmusic #beethoven #antique #books #bookstodonHave you ever seen a giant Bible like this? This New Testament was published by Paulus Tossanus, 1665, in Basel. (The one below in my first post) It is therefore in GERMAN. With the size of 42*28 cm, it is indeed the biggest book i own so far. This Bible unfortunately had lost its title page, but still has 5 engraved maps, with minor damages more or less.
#bible #books #bookstodon #antique #germanFirst post here on Mastodon, would like to connect with people who also love antiques, especially ANTIQUE BOOKS. 😍
Sharing two interesting books from my collection:
Huge 1668 published New Testament & 1665 published New Testament!
